Prepare before you need it
Recovery is easiest to plan while you still have access. Keep your phrase in a safe place you can reach if you have trouble opening your vault.
Treat the phrase as private
A recovery phrase is sensitive access information. Do not publish it, include it in screenshots you share, or send it to someone who asks for it unexpectedly.
Recovery and backup work on different problems
Recovery helps with access. Backup helps with restoring stored content. Having one does not automatically mean the other is available, so include both in your routine.
